Psychological Evaluations for Immigration Purposes

Why Receive an Evaluation?

 

There are many reasons why your attorney may have suggested you receive an evaluation and why it may be beneficial for your court case. The principal goal of the evaluation to is to document for the court the impact of past experiences on your mental health and well being. We collaborate with your attorney to answer the questions they feel would be most helpful for your case. It is important to us that you feel comfortable during your evaluation and we strive to complete the evaluation in your preferred language. 

Types of Evaluations

Dr. Hurwich-Reiss conducts psychological evaluations for

immigration purposes for children and adults.

 

Types of evaluations: 

  • Political Asylum

  • Extreme Hardship

  • VAWA

  • U-Visa

  • T-Visa

  • Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS)

Evaluation Components

  • 3-4 hour interview conducted virtually. Use of interpreter upon request.

  • Completion of psychological questionnaires.

  • After the evaluation is complete Dr. Hurwich-Reiss will provide a detailed written report to the  attorney within 3 weeks. 

Fees

  • Please contact us for a more detailed estimate. Fee for evaluations typically are $1200-$1800 depending on the type of evaluation. Payment plans are available. 

  • Additional fees apply for use of an interpreter or for expedited reports.
